SOS I: Survival Basic Training
- DE Wed – Sun 29 June – 3 July 2022
With the help of various perception exercises we learn to observe nature better without disturbing it. We train to camouflage our appearance so that we can better perceive our environment. This course builds on the experiences of SOS Course I.
More in depth:
A natural person does not perceive more than a civilized one. But the person living outside has a different prioritization and processing of the senses. Exactly at this point we start and train the perception of people living outside. We will deal with all senses in depth: the physiology of the senses, the processing of the sensory impressions in the brain, the prioritization of the individual perceptions. Finally, all senses will be sharpened in order to live in nature.
Concrete practical topics can be:
- Night vision, twilight vision
- Following the origins of sensory stimuli
- Identifying plants in the dark
- filtering sounds
- mental camouflage
- physical camouflage
- protect senses from overstimulation
- Perception putty (equivalent to survival putty)
With our senses open, our own perceptual obstructions such as smell, sound, etc, are reduced.
After this course, we will have acquired various tools to better use our senses in nature.
